I hand-painted this round serving platter with a coastal design inspired by the Newcastle beaches. It features a pink and terracotta nautilus shell set against a bright blue background. This is an original piece of art painted on a bamboo base using professional acrylics.

The platter is finished with a glass-like resin that is completely food-safe. It is tough and heat-resistant, so you can use it to serve appetizers, cheese, or desserts without worrying about the paint. It works just as well as a decorative piece on a kitchen bench when you are not using it for entertaining.

The Details:

  • Dimensions: 30cm diameter.

  • Material: Sustainable bamboo.

  • Hand-painted original artwork by Vicki Maree.

  • Durable and food-safe resin coating.

How to look after it: Do not put this platter in the dishwasher or soak it in water. To clean it, use a damp cloth with warm soapy water and wipe it dry. This will protect both the resin finish and the bamboo base.

Artist-Quality Acrylics

I exclusively use professional-grade acrylic paints known for their high pigment load and exceptional lightfastness. This ensures the vibrant teals and golden ochres remain as vivid as the day they were painted, resisting fading over time.

Food-Safe & Durable Finish

Since these pieces are meant for entertaining, I seal every hand-painted design with a premium, glass-like resin. This coating is completely food-safe and creates a heat-resistant, durable barrier. It protects the artwork from spills and wear, so you can actually use your serving sets for appetizers and platters without worrying about damaging the art.

Artisan Bamboo & Steel

I choose high-quality sustainable bamboo for the trays and stainless steel for the matching cheese tools to ensure the base of the work is as solid as the painting itself. These materials are chosen for their longevity and natural feel, making them perfect as a permanent centerpiece or a reliable set for your next gathering.
